Nelson Consulting utilizes Nautilus Methodology, a systematic, best of breed process for identifying ideal acquisition prospects for a Buyer.  In concert with you, your accountant and legal counsel, we drive the acquisition process from initiation through closing.  To insure Buyer confidentiality, the Buyer’s name is typically withheld until the interest level of acquisition candidate’s are fully qualified. 

  Nautilus Methodology -  Acquisition Process

  1. Week 1:  Buyer / Nelson Consulting develop detailed acquisition criteria
  2. Week 2:  Perform in-depth research into global databases to identify target acquisition candidates
  3. Week 3:  Direct mail, E-mail and phone marketing to targeted acquisition candidates
  4. Week 5:  Present initial marketing campaign results to Buyer
  5. Week 5:  Select & prioritize for further action candidates that responded to the marketing campaign 
  6. Week 6:  Nelson Consulting contacts interested acquisition candidates & qualifies
  7. Week 8:  Presents Buyer with qualified & prioritized acquisition candidates
  8. Week 8 - 20:  Assist Buyer in scheduling and executing interviews with the acquisition candidates
  9. Week 12 – 20:  Assist Buyer in optimizing the negotiation strategies, candidate specific
  10. Week 12 - 25:  Assist Buyer, accountant and attorney in negotiating terms with candidate acquisition
  11. Week 12 – 25:  Assist Buyer in the performance of preliminary due diligence
  12. Week 12 - 25:  Assist Buyer and attorney in the development of a Letter Of Intent
  13. Week 12 - 25:  Assist Buyer and attorney in the development of a definitive agreement
  14. Week 15 – 30:  Assist Buyer and attorney in executing post-agreement due diligence
  15. Week 15 – 30:  Assist Buyer and attorney in deal closing, as required
